17 DIY Fall Dog Crafts
1. Easy DIY Fall Leaf Dog

Tools Needed
- Paint Brush
- Scissors
Materials & Supplies
- Large Fall Leaves
- Googly Eyes
- Craft Paint
- Buttons
- Glue
- Pink Construction Paper
- Magnets (optional)
Instructions
- Begin by selecting a large, colorful fall leaf that is not overly dry. Cut a small dog tongue shape from the pink construction paper.
- Apply glue to the googly eyes and button nose, and attach them to the leaf. Glue the pink tongue onto the leaf.
- Paint a few additional details onto the leaf using a paintbrush and craft paint to complete your dog face. This could include ears, freckles, etc.
- Once the glue and paint have dried, glue on an optional magnet to the back of the leaf so you can hang your craft on the fridge.
2. DIY Macrame Pumpkin Collar

Tools Needed
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun (optional)
- Lighter (optional, for cord ends)
- Bow maker (optional)
Materials & Supplies
- Orange cord
- Green cord
- Collar hardware (D-ring, buckle)
- Dog treats (optional)
Instructions
- Starting with an orange cord, thread through the collar buckle and make a loop by pulling both ends tight. Run the cords through the D-ring and back through the buckle to thread.
- Lock the D-ring in place by crossing one cord over the front of the ring and looping it through the back. Repeat on the other side to lock both sections of the collar in place.
- Attach the thinner green cord to the collar by looping it through the buckle. Make four loops with the green cords to create the pumpkin stem, alternating between the left and right sides.
- Flip the green cords to the back and pull an orange cord through the front to create a loop.
- Repeat this process to wrap the orange cords around the back of the green cords and loop through a loop.
- Repeat the pumpkin pattern until you have as many pumpkins as you want on the collar. Tie off any remaining cord under the collar and trim to neaten the back of the collar.
- To add pumpkin stems, push a green thread through one of the loops at the bottom of each pumpkin to form a smaller, more secure loop. Tie a knot and trim off the excess.
3. DIY No-Sew Pumpkin Costume

Tools Needed
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Fabric marker pen
- Hemming tape
- Iron
- Fabric glue
Materials & Supplies
- Halloween/Fall Felt Sheets
- Ribbon (Orange or Black)
- Dog Collar
- Free Printable Template
Instructions
- Print out the pumpkin mask and bandana templates at the proper size for your pup. Trace the shapes onto the felt sheets using a fabric marker and cut them out.
- Draw a rectangle that is about four times the width of your dog’s collar and as wide as your felt sheet. Cut out the rectangle and snip the bottom into a triangle shape.
- Glue or iron on the pumpkin face shapes to the bandana and mask. Check to be sure all pieces are secure and let them dry.
- Cut two long strips of ribbon. Use hemming tape or glue to attach one end of each strip to the side of the mask, allowing it to be tied around your dog’s head.
- Attach a strip of hemming tape along the top edge of the bandana rectangle. Fold the fabric over your dog’s collar and secure it to create a loop pocket for the collar.
4. Carved Dog Pumpkin

- black permanent marker
- wooden clipboard or cutting mat
Materials & Supplies
- Pumpkin (tall with a flat side)
- PET-friendly pumpkin template
- LED pumpkin light (optional)
Instructions
- Choose a tall pumpkin with a flat side. This will make it easier to carve. Print out a PET pumpkin template. Tape it to a wooden clipboard.
- With an X-acto knife, cut out all of the gray pieces of the template. These are the pieces you will be cutting out of the pumpkin.
- Put the template on your pumpkin and trace the entire design with a black permanent marker.
- Cut a hole in the top of the pumpkin, scoop out the seeds and pulp, and carefully cut the rest of the design into the side of the pumpkin with your knives.
5. DIY Dog Treat Bags

Tools Needed
- Black marker
- Scissors
Materials & Supplies
- Small paper bags
- Festive ribbon
- Tasty treats
Instructions
- Decorate the small paper bags with a black marker. You can get as creative as you like and draw bones or paw prints, or use stickers to decorate the bags.
- Tie a festive ribbon around the top of each bag. This will help seal the bag and also add a pop of color for a fun and festive look.
- Fill each bag with some of the yummy treats. Crunchy treats work best for this project since they will not dry out in the open bags.

- Hot Glue Gun and Sticks
Materials & Supplies

- Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
- Bow Maker
Materials & Supplies
- Cardboard or Wooden Wreath Base

- Position the treats around the wreath. Wrap the ribbon around each treat to secure it in place. A small dab of hot glue on the back can be used as well for added security.
- As you are wrapping, leave an open space on the wreath where no treats are placed. This will be where you will add your decorative bow when the wreath is complete.
- Create a festive bow using the bow maker with the wired ribbon. Attach the finished bow with hot glue to the open space on the wreath.
- When finished, be sure to hang the wreath in a safe place where your pet can’t reach it. This will keep your dog from overindulging on the treats.
