1. Pumpkin Halloween Dog Treats DIY

Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups whole wheat flour (or oat flour)
- 1 egg
- ½ cup pumpkin puree (not pie filling)
- 1 tbsp peanut butter (without xylitol)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to about 350°F, and have a cookie sheet or silicone mold ready before mixing the dough.
- Mix the flour, egg, pumpkin, and peanut butter in a large bowl until you have a thick smooth dough with no dry spots.
- If the dough is too sticky to work with, you can add more flour, a tablespoon at a time, until it is stiff enough to press or roll without sticking.
- Press dough into Halloween silicone molds or roll it out to ½ inch thick and use cookie cutters.
- Place the shaped dough onto the baking sheet and bake for approximately 30 minutes, or until golden brown and firm.
- Cool completely in the mold or on the baking sheet before removing, and store in an airtight container for up to 5 days or refrigerate for longer.
2. Pumpkin and Peanut Butter Treats

Ingredients
- 1 sweet potato
- 140g whole wheat flour
- 140g peanut butter (xylitol-free)
- 1 cooking pumpkin
- Pinch of cinnamon
Instructions
- Peel and dice the sweet potato. Bring to a boil until the potatoes can be pierced easily with a fork.
- Remove from the heat and allow to cool. Once the potato is cooled, mash with a fork or potato masher until smooth.
- Peel, dice, and puree the pumpkin with a food processor or blender until a smooth, even consistency is achieved.
- Mix the mashed potato, pumpkin puree, peanut butter, flour, and a pinch of cinnamon in a large bowl to form a dough.
- Lightly flour your working area and roll the dough until it is roughly ½ inch thick. Use Halloween-shaped cookie cutters to cut the biscuits.
- Place the biscuits on the parchment paper-lined baking tray with a small space between each. Bake in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the treats are firm and slightly golden brown on the outside.
- Allow to cool completely and serve. The biscuits can be kept in an airtight container for a couple of days or in the fridge for longer.
3. Mummy and Mummy Bone Dog Treats

Ingredients
- Your favorite roll-and-cut dog treat dough
- Carob powder and water
- Small amount of reserved dough
- Natural tinting options like turmeric or wheatgrass powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven and prepare the dough according to your favorite recipe for rolled and cut-out dog treats. Reserve a small amount of dough for optional eyes.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut with a bone cutter or small round cutter, and set the cut pieces on a lined baking tray.
- Use a knife to very lightly and shallowly score parallel lines across each treat piece.
- Mix a small amount of carob powder with water to a thin wash and lightly brush it over the scored lines of dough to darken them.
- Mix the reserved dough with turmeric, wheatgrass, or another natural food color and form small balls.
- Attach the balls to the treats with a toothpick and then add a dot of the wash to create pupils.
- If your dough needs to be chilled, do so before baking in the oven as directed in the recipe for your base dough. Allow the treats to cool completely.
4. Pumpkin Peanut Butter Cutout Cookies with Dog-Safe Icing

Ingredients
- Treats
- 5 cups oat flour
- 1 cup canned pumpkin purée
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup natural unsweetened creamy peanut butter
Icing
- 1 plant-based food coloring variety pack
- 2 tsp activated charcoal powder
- 1 tsp honey
- 2 – 3 tbsp cornstarch, arrowroot powder, or tapioca starch
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking tray with parchment paper or grease it with oil so the treats don’t stick to the tray.
- Combine pumpkin, peanut butter, eggs, and oat flour in a large bowl. Stir until the dough forms and there are no dry spots of flour.
- Transfer the dough to a parchment paper-covered surface and roll to about ½ inch thick with your favorite cookie cutters.
- Place shapes on the prepared tray and re-roll the scraps, then continue cutting until all the dough is used up.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack and allow to cool completely before icing.
- Prepare the icing by stirring your choice of food color (or charcoal for black) with the honey and 2 tbsp of starch until smooth.

Ingredients
- 1 – 2 small bananas
- 1 cup plain non-fat yogurt
- ½ cup canned pumpkin
- Silicone ice cube tray
Instructions
- Spray an ice cube tray with cooking spray. Fill each mold about one-third full with the plain yogurt. Freeze for 1 to 2 hours or until firm.
- Stir the ½ cup yogurt and canned pumpkin together in a bowl until well mixed. Pour over the frozen yogurt in each mold. Leave some room at the top for the final layer.
- Freeze for 1 to 2 hours or until firm. Spoon the mashed banana and remaining yogurt over each mold.
- Freeze until the final layer is firm, then remove from the mold and store in a freezer-safe container.

Ingredients
- ½ can 100% pumpkin purée
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ½ tbsp freshly grated ginger
- 1 tbsp blackstrap molasses
- 1½ cups oat flour
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Mix the pumpkin, molasses, cinnamon, and ginger.
- Add the oat flour and stir with a spoon or your hands until a dough comes together. Cover with a clean tea towel and let rest for 10 minutes.
- Roll the dough to ⅛ – ¼ inch thick on a floured surface. (You may need to add a bit more flour to the dough if it’s sticking.)

- Transfer the treats to the lined baking sheet and bake for 20 – 25 minutes. After that time, turn the oven off and leave the cookies in the oven for an additional 45 – 60 minutes to finish drying.
- Once the cookies are completely cooled and crisp, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks, or in the freezer for longer.
9. DIY Fall Dog Treats

Ingredients
- ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
- ½ cup canned pumpkin
- 1 tsp turmeric
- Silicone mold
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, stir the Greek yogurt, pumpkin, and turmeric together until smooth and combined well.
- Place your silicone mold on a tray or cutting board to make it easier to move once it is full. Fill each compartment of the mold with the mixture, but do not overfill the edges.
- Move to your freezer and freeze until solid, about 4 hours.

- Mix the flour, salt, and cinnamon in one bowl and the pumpkin, eggs, and peanut butter in another until smooth and well mixed.

12. Triple Threat Halloween Twists

Ingredients
- 2½ cups flour (plus extra as needed)
- 1 cup warm water
- ½ banana
- 2 tsp honey
- 2 heaping tsp dog-safe peanut butter
- Food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- First, create a crumbly dough with flour and warm water in a large bowl, then divide that dough into three equal parts for the flavored layers.
- Mash the banana in one bowl, then mix in food coloring if you’d like. Mix until smooth, adding a little more flour until the dough is no longer sticky and dry enough to roll.
- To the second portion, add the honey and food coloring (optional). Mix until incorporated, adding more flour until the dough is firm and not sticky.
- Mix the peanut butter into the last dough ball and add a little more flour if needed to make all three doughs the same consistency for easy rolling and shaping.
- Roll each dough into long ropes of equal size and twist the three ropes together. Slice the twisted log into small, bite-sized pieces.

Ingredients
Pupcakes
- 2 ripe bananas
- ½ cup xylitol-free peanut butter
- ⅓ cup honey
- 2 eggs
- 1½ cups self-raising flour
- 2½ tsp sugar (optional)
- ¼ cup olive oil
- ¾ cup water
Frosting
- 500g pumpkin
- ½ cup plain yogurt
- 12 – 15 small dog biscuits
Instructions
- Preheat oven to about 356° Fahrenheit and line cupcake tin with paper liners or grease each cup very lightly.
- Put mashed bananas into a large mixing bowl and mix in peanut butter, honey, and eggs, stirring until creamy and smooth.
- Stir in flour, sugar (if using), olive oil, and water. Beat with an electric mixer (or vigorously with a spoon) until batter is smooth.
- Fill cupcake cups about two-thirds full with batter and bake for 20 – 25 minutes until golden brown and firm. Remove from oven and set aside.
- Put diced pumpkin in a saucepan, add water to cover, and boil until very soft. Drain and return to the pan. Add yogurt and mash, using an electric beater, until smooth, fluffy, and spreadable.
- Let the pupcakes cool, then frost each one with the pumpkin yogurt mixture. Place a small dog biscuit on top of each for added fun.
