Ensuring Complete Nutrition

Before you start making your spring dog treat recipes, we recommend consulting a vet before introducing homemade treats as a large part of your dog’s diet.

The issue with homemade treats is that while they’re nice for controlling what your dog eats, they aren’t balanced to provide complete nutrition. And that’s okay.

However, if you’re feeding a lot of homemade foods, your vet or a veterinary nutritionist can help you identify any deficits and advise you on supplementation.

There are a few supplements that come to mind when considering complete nutrition in dogs. Fish oil, for example, helps support heart, brain, and coat health for your dog.

Calcium is great to supplement with if you don’t feed your dog raw meaty bones to ensure they’re getting enough to support healthy bones and teeth.

Some vitamin and mineral powders for dogs can help fill in the gaps by boosting their immune system and digestion.

Conclusion

That’s your 18 spring dog treat recipes guaranteed to make your furry family member happy, healthy, and very spoiled this season.

As you already know, there’s nothing more satisfying than making your own dog treats.

Not only will you know every ingredient that goes into them, but your pup will also show you how much they appreciate your effort.

We hope you have chosen a few recipes you love. Now it’s time to get creative with them and, most importantly, have fun fluffing up some new flavors your dog will go nuts for.
